New in the 10/29/05 SeriousB Windows update

Streamlined installation. New uninstall program. A few obscure bugs
 fixed since the May update.

Recent SeriousB additions and fixes

Important new features everyone can use: Reminder list in Search
Dialog when pulling up records like the "Remind F7" button on the
data-entry screen. Already works with existing applications using
reminder lists (if you set up your own application and have no
reminder lists, look up "GET WINDOW" in the manual). New selection in
the Help menu "Suggested settings" analyzes your Windows configuration
and helps you optimize for productivity. New "GLOBAL ONHOLD" and
"DELETE OFFHOLD" Global commands let you make Onhold locations the
same on all stations, also deleting locations when retreived. Improved
display for some unusual Windows configurations.

Faster startup. Setup option "Sync windows" lets you minimize/maximize
both windows by minimizing or maximizing either. System counters
inside columns, also sequence defined entries. "CHECK NUMBER SCAN
heading" specifier adds QTY as the same part is scanned multiple
times. SBWNEW.EXE updates itself on Windows XP, incl. from Misc
folder. Remove deleted components from QuickRun buttons, recently run
list. How to overcome Windows XP "Oplocks" bug + 2 workarounds.
"Keepalive" feature for TCP networks. MiserDOS "UPDATE SETUP"
automatically updates revised application components uploaded by modem
 (expert support feature).

File SBW.DLL is no longer used. You are invited to delete it after
 updating.

Update SeriousB

SeriousB is updated frequently with minor new features and fixes. The
date of last revision is shown at the top of the download page. To
update your program, download SeriousB and repeat the installation. A
revised SeriousB manual and updates to other help and documentation
will also be included. Please request our 1-page fax on updating a
 network using SBWNEW.EXE (see below).

SBWNEW.EXE for networks Updated 2/11/05

Note: This file is now included in the main SeriousB download
 (SBW32.EXE)

If you are running SeriousB on a network, you may wish to have the
SBWNEW.EXE program file in your install folder at each station
including the server station. Thereafter, when downloading SeriousB,
designate the "Misc Files" folder on the server's application drive as
the "Install folder" (during the installation process only). The "Misc
Files" folder is listed in the "Configuration" selection in the View
menu. This saves the updated files to the server's application drive
instead of in the downloading computer's real SeriousB install folder
 (usually C:\SBW30).

Upon running SBWNEW.EXE at each station, all files in the download
will be updated to the install folder at each station (usually SBW30).
If you create an icon to run the SBWNEW.EXE file, and put (drag) the
icon into the Startup folder at each station, then updating will be
automatic at all stations (upon next reboot). The Startup folder is
found in My Computer at 'Drive C / Windows / Start Menu / Programs /
 Startup'.
